Cricket

India M Tour of Australia, 5th Test

Eh, the series - and probably the WTC as well - is lost anyway.

Afghanistan M Tour of Zimbabwe, 2nd Test

Afghanistan do take the win this time by 72 runs, which is narrow if you think of the domination from the first test.

Pakistan M Tour of South Africa, 2nd Test

South Africa enforced a follow-on and were left with 57 runs to get off their final innings. Which they did without troubling the third batsman.

Sri Lanka M Tour of New Zealand, 3rd T20I, 1st-3rd ODIs

Sri Lanka took a consolation win in the final T20I, and the same story repeated in the ODIs - New Zealand won the first two and Sri Lanka won the third.

England W Tour of Australia, 1st-3rd ODIs, 1st-3rd T20Is

Australia won everything, although the second T20I got close. I do question the DLS par score though, deducting 11 runs off a target of 186 for 5 balls lost to rain?

Ireland W Tour of India, 1st-3rd ODIs

Three wins for India, not even shocking.

West Indies M Tour of Pakistan, 1st-2nd Tests

Shared honours, each team taking one match each.

Bangladesh W Tour of West Indies, 1st-3rd ODIs, 1st-3rd T20Is

Bangladesh only managed to win the 2nd ODI, West Indies winning the others quite comfortably.

England M Tour of India, 1st-4th T20Is

Easy win, close win, moderate loss, moderate win for India. Nothing special about any match, though.

FIA Gone Mad

Last year, the FIA started handing out fines and community service for drivers who swore during press conferences. Understandable, in my opinion. This year, they took it way too far, outlining fines and sporting penalties for foul language or personal insults directed at the FIA (not at others) during press conferences or while on track.
Sporting penalties for moral offences is absolutely ridiculous. You also cannot police a driver's speech when they're driving. Apart from it being a high-stress situation, the only way a child could hear the driver swear is if the message is broadcast. Or if the child takes effort to go to the driver's onboard footage and listen to the team radio. The broadcasts are also very liberal with bleeping out swearing (understandable on live broadcast), bleeping out Hamilton's "Shit... Shit, Bono, man..." (yes, even the "Bono, man") during the infamous safety car at Abu Dhabi 2021.
Included in the list of moral infractions is political statements, which was always penalised financially, but now carries the threat of a sporting penalty. The FIA gets to decide what political speech is, so drivers calling out racism or homophobia have gotten fined, but a protest against Russia's invasion of Ukraine did not. To be clear, I am against Russia's invasion of Ukraine, but it shows that political speech is not banned, political speech that the FIA does not want to hear is.

Mexico City E-Prix

Sao Paolo wasn't a fluke, this car brings really good racing! 4-wheel drive and softer tyres really make the difference in Attack Mode, as there is more traction available in corner exits to make up positions. This race was won by Oliver Rowland, who was not very efficient with his energy usage and got a lifeline because of a late safety car. The safety car also ate up 5 minutes of his Attack Mode allocation, which would've been a good thing last season but not anymore.

Pit Boost

The Gen 3 car has been built with a battery capable of fast charging, and in-race charging was hyped up two years ago. However, repeated issues delayed it until now. Every double header of this season will see Pit Boost mandated at one of the races, where each car has to pit for a 10% energy boost, with a minimum stop time of 30s mandated for safety purposes. This may or may not flop, and it remains to be seen how Pit Boost affects strategy.
