Cricket

New Zealand M Tour of Ind, 3rd Test

Adding insult to injury by whitewashing us at home. At least the last match was close-ish?

England M Tour of WI, 2nd-3rd ODIs, 1st-5th T20Is

West Indies take the ODI series 2-1, with England taking a narrow win in the second ODI. The T20I series goes 3-1 in England's favour after the last match is washed out, England winning the first three with decreasing margins and West Indies taking the fourth.

Pakistan M Tour of Aus, 1st-3rd ODIs, 1st-3rd T20Is

Pakistan won the low-scoring ODI series 2-1, but Australia whitewashed the T20I series, which was also low-scoring.

Afghanistan M v/s Bangladesh M at UAE, 1st-3rd ODIs

Afghanistan, the underdogs, won 2-1.

India M Tour of South Africa, 1st-4th T20Is

India... scored over 200 in all 3 matches that they won... with the scoreboard on the final match reading 283/1... That's some strong demolition right there.

New Zealand M Tour of Sri Lanka, 1st-2nd T20Is, 1st-3rd ODIs

After New Zealand humiliated India at home, Sri Lanka put up a better fight, drawing the T20I series and winning the ODI series 2-0. Are India's days of home domination over?

Bangladesh M Tour of West Indies, 1st Test

Total domination by West Indies. Mixed feelings, I hate to see the West Indies decline as of late, but I also love seeing the Bangladesh uprising.

India M Tour of Australia, 1st Test

Without Rohit Sharma, we won the first test! We might have a shot at the World Test Championship Finals after all!

England W Tour of South Africa, 1st-3rd T20Is

English whitewash. Hell, pretty one-sided too, with South Africa putting up a decent fight only in the first match.

Pakistan M Tour of Zimbabwe, 1st-3rd ODIs

Zimbabwe took a big win in the first rain-affected ODI, but Pakistan won the other two comfortably

Ireland W Tour of Bangladesh, 1st-2nd ODIs

Completely one-sided affairs in Bangladesh's favour.

Sri Lanka M Tour of South Africa, 1st Test

Sri Lanka 42 all out. No points for guessing the winner of this one.

Formula 1

Brazilian Grand Prix

Classy drive from Verstappen as he goes from 17th to 1st over the race. Majestic double-podium for Alpine, who jump from 9th (16 pts) to 6th (49 pts) in the space of one crazy race.

Las Vegas Grand Prix

Lights-to-flag victory for Russell, brilliant recovery drive from Hamilton to go from 10th to 2nd, and a championship for Verstappen.

Cadillac Joins F1

This was such a weird journey, it's almost as if F1 hates Andretti. They rejected the Andretti-Cadillac entry but they accepted the Cadillac one. Anyway, 11 teams in 2026 - larger grid, funner races.

Formula E

With Season 10 just having been concluded, we are seeing the Gen 3 Evo car being rolled out, with more downforce, softer tyres, and all-wheel-drive in the high performance mode called Attack Mode.
Drivers used to focus on conserving energy in the slipstream and mounting an attack towards the end of the race. With higher downforce and softer tyres, dirty air is going to be more of a factor, and drivers will likely see more of a dilemma between conserving energy and tyres.
The softer tyres and all-wheel-drive also mean that Attack Mode deployments are more potent in low speed, which the drivers had complained about. The only thing that concerns me with softer tyres is that, like at the end of Gen 2, the tyre grooves may wear out during a race and any rain at the end of the race cannot be handled by the tyres.

Along with the pre-season testing, Formula E also ran a Women's Test, with the women's laptimes being 3.5 seconds off the full-time drivers. Considering the women have experience levels somewhere around F4 while the full-time drivers are closer to F1 than F2, and that the women had only one-sixth the track time, I think that's not far. Correcting for the track time by comparing the results of the women's test with Session 1 of the main testing, the deficit is down to about 1.7 seconds.
